Warhammer Fantasy - Monday Nights
« on: Apr 05, 2010 10:36AM »

Hello to all of you die hard Warhammer Fantasy players. (I know you're out there).  If you're looking for a game there is a sizeable group of us that play every Monday night at The Battle Standard from around 4-Close.

Interesting!  Perhaps Olag and Urgot need to come out of the carrier for some 'ead bashin'!  Good to see the Fantasy crew is alive and well.  Should I get a Monday off I will certainly be there!  And not because I'm working either!

Have you tried using Cannons?  I hear you can pretty much shoot whatever you want, whenever you want, without any regard to line of sight or range  :P.

Peyton, you'll be glad to hear I got bored painting Black Guard last night and began modelling up my Beastmen chariots.  Those plastic kits are nice (and yes I am including the Bestigors in that statement).  Any suggestions for a color scheme.  I was thinking flesh tone skin, dark brown fur, ash colored wood and maybe blue cloth?  The cloth areas are the ones I'm stuck on.  I need to decide on a good shade that will work well on cloth and as war paint/tatoos.

I actually don't think that cannons would have helped me at all in that game cuz there weren't any big gribblies to blast(your army on the other hand... :o)  Good to hear your on the Beastmen, how many points do you have right now?

Yes, all orcs and gobbo kits are nice, especially the chariots(and the only bestigor models I  respect are the Pestigors, khornegors and the new command models).  I like blue for tattoos and cloth and such, but a darker green or turquoise would look good too I think.  And how are you going to base them?

Cheers,

Peyton

Now those Would have been useful.  Maybe I should've used them as a DOW unit.

I didn't fare well against Jeff's pansy elves either, but then Justin found the truth:  ILLEGAL LIST!  Cheating High Elves FTW!

yeah, didn't he have too many hero choices?

Anyway, I'm thinking about converting up some snotling pump wagons using some minnie chariot and pulled by squigs rather then spending $60 on 80 points worth of models.  Any ideas on what to use for the chariots?

WAIT!  I have a great idea!  How about $60 snotling pump wagons which can be purchased at The Battle Standard  :P :P :P

Again I jest...

For chariots I think the Orc Boar Boyz chariot is the best idea but then you're getting into the whole more money for models thing.  This may be best completed as a custom job.  Balsa and popsicle sticks?

I've got extra chariot pieces from the Beastmen conversions Peyton.  I'd be glad to donate them.

As for the Leadbelchers vs. Organ Gun debate...
Well it doesn't really matter because one's an Ogre unit and the other is a Dwarf unit.  So they're both garbage, backed up by a whole book worth of other garbage!

For truth.  Playing my High Elves again after a spell with Ogres is like jumping around in zero gravity.  But, I still like the old brutes.  Hopefully I will be able to pry myself away from school work long enough to paint up an iron gut this weekend.

As for the game with Bob, that was an innocent mistake.  To be honest, the BSB was a glorified Dragon Prince champion during that game.  I had you after your general and cold one unit fled the table on turn one.
